Terms of Use - OutageRiskCheck

What this site is

OutageRiskCheck reports utility-level reliability figures from the EIA's Form 861 filing. It is informational only and is not a substitute for a licensed electrician's assessment of your home, your panel, or what a generator installation would require.

No warranty on the figures

Every figure traces to a utility's own filing with the EIA, but a utility-wide annual average cannot predict whether, when, or for how long any specific address will lose power. Nothing here is guaranteed to match what a specific home experiences, and no result should be the sole basis for a purchase, medical, or safety decision.

Medical equipment and safety

If anyone in your home depends on powered medical equipment, do not rely on an average from this site. Register with your utility's medical-priority or life-support program where one exists, and plan backup power with your equipment supplier. Generators must be installed and run per the manufacturer's instructions; never run a fuel generator indoors or in an attached garage.
